Copy HTML table to Excel
Need to copy a table from a website to Excel? Manual paste often merges columns or drops headers. Capture Web Table exports a clean XLSX or CSV grid from the live page — built for web tables, not Excel-in-Excel cell copy tips.
Why paste fails on websites
- Merged cells & nested markuprowspan / colspan and links inside cells confuse spreadsheet paste.
- Paginated resultsOne page at a time is slow — use Page+ on the paged playground.
- DIV "tables"No <table> tag means nothing to paste. Workshop still selects the grid.
Steps
- Install Capture Web Table
Add the extension and open a page that contains the table you need.
- Select the table
Use the popup for real HTML tables, or Workshop for DIV-based grids.
- Export to Excel
Choose Excel (XLSX) or CSV. Columns stay aligned — no re-splitting in Sheets.
